Approach

In its interventions, the ITMI seeks synergy, be it internally with training activities of the college or between the ITMI fields of expertise (technical support, research and information), or externally with its partners.

The ITMI focuses its interventions on the most advanced and efficient practices. These practices are of integrative nature and thus cover a continuum of interventions.

The ITMI favors the use of modeling and simulation in order to maximize the benefits of its interventions. The implementation of this technology in businesses has many advantages as demonstrated by case studies: reduction of learning time, gain in performance speed, reduced downtime, reduced replacement costs of equipement parts, reduced training costs, increased "First-time right", operational gains.

Finally, the ITMI actively participates in the development of the North of the province of Quebec. In this regard, it hosts a strategic alliance, Alliance TransNord, currently composed of five College Centres for the Transfer of Technologies (CCTT). This alliance aims to support, by the transfer of technologies, the development of companies active in Northern Quebec. This region presents significant challenges specific to it: climatic conditions, remoteness and others.
